Hi Folks, I want to bring up some issues about our Syromalabar Holy Mass in English as well as Religious Education. First of all English Mass is very long for all ages of kids to attend.
2. It is very complicated to understand for kids. You might have found increase in lack of participation.
.3. It cut down our kids time from socializing with other kids. As we know there are many parents bringing their kids from very far distance, just to mingle with or socialize with other Syromalabar kids with the Religious Education.
Definitely we have to give at least 45 minutes to 1 Hour for our kids to socialize with other kids. Have them play, talk or joke. If these kids hate to come to Syromalabar Church there is no future for our SMC . Most important thing is who is going to carry over the debt or mortgage of this Church.
4. Most of the Malayalee priests in this country don’t know, how hard the life in USA with kids with tight schedule of job. We all came to USA for better future and God gave us all the blessings.
Of course Jesus and Church should come first before any thing else, but we have to provide chances for our kids to mingle with other kids. Recently I heard from somebody that Chicago Diocese is the first trial & Error place to introduce any new prayers which they don’t even try in Kerala Diocese. R we guinea pigs to do the experiments ? Our time has no value?.
Our Church is a place for social gathering too. We wish or want our kids to marry from Syromalabar community. They have to know each other. They have to know our traditions, culture sharing information’s and all kinds of things. We want all members of our community to know each other doesn’t matter poor or rich, north or south, west or east.
Look @ the Knanaya Community they know each other and they R together for all vital needs. That is their strength. We don’t have to fight for silly things for no reasons, but we have to fight for our kids Rights and their Future.
